To check and download the February 2019 OTA update for Pixel C devices follow the steps below.
  1. First of all, make sure you have a stable internet connection (Wi-Fi or data network) on your device.
  2. Now, go to Android app drawer and then select Settings.
  3. Then locate About Device and tap on it.
  4. Next select Software update from About device screen.
  5. Then tap on Update option.

Install February 2019 Software Update OPM8.190205.001 on Pixel C


You can ADB sideload the OTA or you may perform the factory image installation. I will guide you through both the methods. First, we will learn you how to install factory image. Before that, you must have some pre-requisites as mentioned below.

Pre-Requisites:

  1. Make sure your computer has working adb and fastboot. Setup instructions can be found here.
  2. Enable USB Debugging on your device. [Tutorial]
  3. Proper USB driver is installed. [Download]
  4. Make sure your device have at least 50% battery power.
Step-By-Step Guide For Factory Image Installation

Step 1: Locate ADB folder on your computer. It most likely located at the root of your system drive. [ i.e C:\adb ]

Step 2: Now extract downloaded factory image zip file of your respective device. Then copy extracted files to ADB folder.

Step 3: Now open adb folder. After that, press and hold 'Shift' key and then right click to bring context menu. From context menu, click on 'Open command window here'. Alternate: Press Windows Key + R. Then type cmd and press enter. On then command window type cd\ and after that type cd adb. [I'm assuming C:\adb is the location of adb folder]

Step 4: Make sure your phone is connected with computer. Now type following command: adb devices . This command should show your device respective code. If it not showing anything, then either your device isn't connected properly or you didn't followed all 'pre-requisites'.

Step 5: Its time to boot into bootloader. To do so, execute following command: adb reboot bootloader. Your device should now boot into fastboot mode.

Step 6: Now we are ready to flash OPM8.190205.001 factory image to respective device. For that double click on flash-all script that located on your adb folder. This script installs the necessary bootloader, baseband firmware(s), and operating system.

Step 7: You will be asked to press any key to exit once the flashing process ended. Please do not exit the terminal or command prompt until it asked show.

Your Pixel C will reboot automatically and is now running on latest Google Android Security patch for February 2019 with build OPM8.190205.001.

Step 6: To enter sideload mode, select the option Apply update from ADB.

Step 7: Now run the following command on command prompt: adb sideload ota_file.zip [Replace ota_file.zip with your downloaded OTA file name]

Step 8: Once the update finishes, reboot the phone by choosing Reboot system now.
